EP 12 | LinkedIn Growth: Building real relationships with Joshua B. Lee

Here’s what to expect from this episode:

Everything you need to know to grow on LinkedIn, you learned from your mom (or maybe in Kindergarten). If you’ve been spinning your wheels or blowing your budget trying to figure out the secret to building relationships on LinkedIn, I have good news:  It’s not that complicated.

My guest today is Joshua B. Lee, whose nickname is “The Dopamine Dealer of LinkedIn. He has a community of over 82,000 followers on LinkedIn (and over 200K across social media) that he built the old-fashioned way - by building relationships - and he’s breaking down exactly how you can do it too.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why do we need to stop thinking about LinkedIn as B2B, and how to think of it instead
  • How to leverage collaborative articles as a thought-leader
  • The difference between traffic and true engagement - and what converts
  • The three categories of content you should be posting
  • The reason you should stop putting out content for content’s sake
  • The difference between selling and letting people choose to work with you.

In 2003, Josh started his first online advertising company called LF Media with clients like MySpace and Google, and today he and his wife, Rachel B. Lee, are co-owners of Standout Authority, where they help clients build authority and long-lasting relationships on LinkedIn. He’s also part of the LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok Creator Programs with nearly 200K+ fans across social media.

During this episode, Joshua and I dive into the importance of relationship-based marketing, the human element of social media, and more. If one of your goals is to grow influence across social media, this episode is for you.

Human connection is powerful. Having a conversation and connection that creates a relationship can open up a lot of wonderful opportunities. What is your experience with LinkedIn? How do you feel about the platform? Send me a message on LinkedIn or Instagram. I'd love to hear from you!
